Ingredients For Halloumi and Pineapple Burgers
These halloumi and pineapple burgers are so simple. There’s plenty that you can add, but I start with:
Halloumi Cheese
Pineapple Rings – I use tinned.
Olive Oil
Chilli Flakes
Oregano
Burger Buns
I also add lettuce, slices of red onion and tomato, but you can add whatever salad bits you want. A dollop of coleslaw is also really good.

How to Make Halloumi and Pineapple Burgers – Step-by-Step Instructions
Full, easy-to-follow instructions and quantities are available in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Step One
Season the halloumi with oil, chilli and oregano.

Step Two
Heat a large frying pan over medium heat on the hob.
Step Three
Add the halloumi and fry for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Step Four
Add the pineapple rings for the last 2 minutes, turning halfway. For really caramelised pineapple, cook them for longer. I just warm them up.

Step Five
Layer two halloumi slices with two pineapple rings and the salad of your choice on each burger bun.

Step Six
Serve with sauces of choice. I go for mayo.
Serving Suggestions
For a quick and easy lunch, serve as they are. I tend to serve them with homemade wedges, coleslaw, and salad. Sometimes corn on the cob. Basically, anything you can serve with a burger you can serve with this pineapple and halloumi burger.

Variations
There are plenty of options for easy halloumi and pineapple burgers. You can do things differently, or add extras.
Burger Buns
I tend to use just plain white buns, but you could use Seeded burger buns for a Small seeded burger with halloumi and pineapple. You can use whatever you want.
Add Some Lemon
Add a little lemon or Lime juice with the chilli for a bit of a tang.
Grill
Grilled halloumi burgers are great. I like to fry, so I can see the colour changing, but you can grill them if you prefer.
Air Fry
Air frying is another option. Take a look at my air fryer halloumi recipe, and add the pineapple for the last few minutes for air fryer halloumi and pineapple burgers.
BBQ
Cooking on the barbecue is another option. For BBQ halloumi and Pineapple burgers, BBQ for a few minutes on each side until charred.
Use a Halloumi Patty
Some shops sell halloumi in patties, like burgers, which are great for this.
Add Chicken
A grilled chicken breast or crispy chicken burger would be a great addition. I’ve also added pineapple and halloumi to a beef burger, which is a bit unconventional but nice.

Leftovers
You can reheat leftover halloumi and pineapple in a pan, the microwave, an air fryer, or a grill. Just for a few minutes until the halloumi has softened.
Storage
Store the leftovers in the fridge for a day or two.
