I really love them, and they are always a hit with the kids.

Why I Love Air Fryer Pizza Bagels
We love pizza night and often make our own dough and sauce. But there’s not always time. That’s the best thing about this air fryer pizza bagel recipe. It’s pizza for when you are too busy to make pizza. Other fab things include:
- Air fryer homemade pizza bagels are fun – the kids love them.
- They’re small, like Mini pizzas.
- You can make the sauce in advance or even use store-bought sauce to speed things up.

Ingredients For Air Fryer Pizza Bagels
When I make my easy air fryer pizza bagels with pepperoni, I use:
Chopped Tomatoes
Salt and Pepper
Dried Basil
Tomato Puree
White Bagels—You can use different kinds of bagels, but plain white makes the best pizza!
Pepperoni – I use a pack of sliced pepperoni and cut the large slices into smaller bits with scissors.
Mozzarella

How to Make Pizza Bagels in the Air Fryer – Step-by-Step Instructions
Full, easy-to-follow instructions and quantities are available in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Step One
Place the chopped tomatoes, salt and pepper, basil and tomato puree in a small saucepan and warm over medium heat on the hob.
Step Two
Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step Three
Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes, just so it’s a little easier to mash.
Step Four
Use a fork to lightly mash the lumps of tomato so it’s a smoother sauce. A few little lumps are okay; it doesn’t need to be a puree, just nothing hard.
Step Five
Cut the bagels in half. I do this before I mash the sauce.
Step Six
Spread each half with the pizza sauce. A tablespoon or two on each half is plenty.
Step Seven
Add the pepperoni.
Step Eight
Sprinkle on the grated cheese and press down gently. This is just to help it stick to the sauce and prevent it from blowing off in the air fryer.
Step Nine
Place on the crisper tray of your air fryer basket.

Step Ten
Air fry at 200 degrees C for 5-6 minutes until they are how you like them. 5 is usually enough for me.

Step Eleven
Remove carefully. I recommend using silicone tongs or a silicone spatula.
What to Serve with Pizza Bagels
I see pizza bagels as lighter than a pizza. Certainly smaller. So, for me, it’s closer to a sandwich or a burger. So unless I’m after a light lunch, I need sides.
The kids love these cheesy pizza bagels with potato waffles or chips. Sometimes, I serve them with salad or just a pack of crisps.

Variations
There are a few things that you can do differently when you make pizza bagels in the air fryer.
Use Store-Bought Sauce
Store-bought pizza sauce is excellent. If you’ve got it, use it. Passata is another option.
Additional Toppings
Air Fryer Pineapple Pizza Bagels are amazing; you can see in my pictures that I use pineapple sometimes. You could also add things like mushrooms, peppers, onions and ham. Try anything you like on a pizza, as long as it fits or can be cut to fit.
All your favourite pizza toppings should work, and most pizza recipes can be adapted. Pepperoni pizza bagels are a great start.

Different Cheese
Shredded Mozzarella cheese is perfect for bagel pizzas, but you can try other things. Even something like goats cheese could work.

FAQ
Bagels and pizza toppings.
Don’t use too much tomato sauce, and don’t cook or let them stand for too long. Add tomato puree to thicken the sauce.
Yes. This would be a terrible recipe if you couldn’t.
About 5 minutes.
Ish. Just have one of the bagel halves to half the calories.
Fabulous. Like a super easy pizza.
