Can You Make Scrambled Eggs in an Air Fryer?
Yes, you can make scrambled eggs in air fryer. In fact, scrambled eggs in air fryer are really nice!
Personally, I love air-frying scrambled eggs.
It’s not the easiest or the fastest way to do it by any means, and I can see why you might prefer to stick with scrambling eggs on the hob or in the microwave.
But it is my favourite way to do them and once you’ve tried air fryer scrambled eggs, I’m sure you’ll love them.

Why Air Fry Scrambled Eggs
I air fry scrambled eggs because it’s something I’m not very good at!
We don’t have a microwave, and I find that when I scramble eggs on the hob, I make a huge mess of my pan and almost always overcook my eggs.
You might also want to air-fry scrambled eggs because:
- If you use a silicone dish like I do, you won’t need any butter or oil, making them healthier.
- If you are cooking eggs as part of a bigger breakfast, it can save you space on the hob.
- Many people use air fryers in caravans, or even at home, instead of ovens.
- It’s much easier to wash up!

Ingredients For Air Fryer Scrambled Eggs
All you need to air fryer scrambled eggs is:
Eggs
Milk
Sea Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper
Once you’ve cracked the basic scrambled eggs in air fryer recipe, you can add things, but I recommend starting simple.

Equipment
As well as an air fryer, you’ll need:
- A jug
- A whisk to scramble the eggs
- Silicone mould to cook the eggs. I use these (affiliate link).
How to Air Fry Scrambled Egg– Step-by-Step Instructions
Full, easy-to-follow instructions and quantities are available in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Step One
Preheat your air fryer to 200 degrees C and set for 10 minutes.
If your air fryer has a preheat setting, use this. If not, heat to 200 degrees C for around 2 minutes before you put your eggs in, setting for 12 minutes total.
Step Two
Whisk the eggs with a splash of milk and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step Three
Pour into a silicone cake tin or basket.
If you are using a metal tin or another non-silicone baking dish, you should spray with olive oil or melt a knob of butter in the air fryer and spread it around before adding the eggs.

Step Four
Place in the air fryer basket (on top of the crisper tray if your machine has one) and air fry for 4 minutes.

Step Five
After four minutes, open the drawer and whisk the eggs, pulling the sides away and scrambling.
At this point, some of the eggs will be cooked, but most will still be liquid.

Step Six
Continue to air fry, whisking and pulling the eggs away from the sides to scramble every 1-2 minutes until the eggs are as firm as you like them.
For me, this takes around 7 minutes.
If any of the eggs ride up the side of your dish, they will dry out very quickly and form a thin, crispy skin. Carefully remove and discard this every time you stir, or if you don’t mind the texture, fold it back into the egg.

How to Serve Air Fryer Scrambled Eggs
I love air fried scrambled eggs with buttered toast or as part of a bigger meal with things like sausage and hash browns.
Scrambled eggs in the air fryer are perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A nutritious and filling element of any meal.
Scrambled eggs on toast in air fryer is probably one of my go-to work-from-home lunches.

Variations
Once you’ve cracked the basic air fryer scrambled eggs recipe, you can think about adding some other flavours.
Add Butter
If you usually make scrambled eggs in the pan, you may do it in melted butter.
If you still want that buttery flavour, place a knob of butter in your tin or mould, and melt in the air fryer for around one minute (or while the fryer is preheating) before adding the eggs.
Skip the Milk
If you like a drier scrambled egg, you could skip the milk.
Add Grated Cheese
Whisking a handful of grated cheddar cheese into your egg mix before scrambling or sprinkling some on top of the cooked eggs is brilliant!
Add Chives
A handful of chopped fresh chives can also be a great addition. You might also want to try chilli flakes for a bit of heat.
Leftovers
Reheated scrambled eggs can be a little rubbery, and I don’t recommend saving leftover scrambled eggs. Instead, if you want a smaller portion, just use two eggs and cook for a shorter time.
