Sausage Burritos are a super tasty family dinner. They are budget-friendly, quick and easy, and a hit with the kids. They really do tick all of the mid-week dinner must-have boxes.
I love sausages. They are cheap, easy to cook with, and because they are already well-seasoned and filled with flavour, you don’t need to add much to create a super tasty meal.
Even better, the kids always love sausages, and what mum doesn’t like a meal that everyone will eat?
We’re also huge fans of burritos. The kids will eat pretty much anything if I wrap it up, add a bit of rice and tell them it’s a burrito. Chicken nugget burritos are a favourite treat tea.
This, of course, means that sausage burritos go down really really well.

Is This a Sausage Breakfast Burrito?
No. This recipe is not a breakfast burrito recipe. I know these are popular. But I’m not sure McDonald’s ever did one in the UK?
If they did, I was always a sausage and egg McMuffin girl.
This is a Sausage Dinner Burrito with spice, kidney beans, rice and cheese.
In fact, I think this Easy Sausage Burrito Recipe is pretty much the perfect midweek meal.
Ingredients for Sausage Burritos
This Sausage Bean Burrito Recipe is super simple. The flavour of the sausages means you don’t need to do much at all.

When I make Sausage and Bean Burritos I use my favourite pork sausages, with the meat squeezed out of the skin. I add kidney beans, chopped tomatoes and some chilli powder, as well as onion and garlic.
Then add whatever you like in your burritos. I go for salad, white rice and cheddar cheese, with guacamole and soured cream.

How to Make Sausage Burritos
Spicy Sausage Burritos are so simple. You pretty much just fry everything together and then wrap it all up with some rice.
How to Remove Sausage Meat from the Skins
I literally just squeeze from the middle until the meat comes out of both ends. It’s easier with a high-quality sausage as the fat content tends to be lower. Sausage Meat Burritos are very much worth this little bit of weirdness.
As you fry the sausage meat, use your spatula to break it apart, so you’ve got small bits instead of big chunks. The consistency is fairly similar to mince.

Rolling Burritos
Rolling burritos is tricky if you overfill. But overfilling means you put more yummy tastes and textures in your wrap.
I layer rice, meat and salad with some sauces and wrap. We tend to wrap foil around the kids, to make them easier to eat, but this isn’t essential if you don’t mind a mess.

What to Serve with Sausage Dinner Burritos?
A Sausage Burrito Recipe has it all. Meat, rice, cheese and salad.

You can serve with a side salad, or something like coleslaw, crab salad, or even a side of chips or garlic bread. But you don’t need to. They are plenty filling on their own.
