I love Halloumi. This quick and easy Mushroom and Halloumi Spaghetti in a creamy soured cream sauce is the perfect way to enjoy this gorgeous cheese as part of an easy family meal.
Halloumi has got to be one of my favourite foods. It’s salty, a little bit weird, and just absolutely gorgeous.
But, I don’t always know what to do with it. I’ll happily eat it on its own, grilled on a sandwich, or as a side, sometimes I want proper Halloumi Dinner Recipes, that are filling.
Real Family Food with Halloumi Cheese as the main attraction.
This Mushroom and Halloumi Pasta is exceptionally easy to make, tastes great, and comes together super-fast.
If you love halloumi, you should definitely give Halloumi and Mushroom Pasta a go.

What Does Halloumi Go Well With?
Halloumi Recipes are varied and interesting. Halloumi is very versatile and is often used in place of meat or fish because it doesn’t break down or melt like other cheeses. It softens but holds together.
This versatility means that actually, Halloumi goes well with lots of things.
I love Mushroom and Halloumi together. In pasta, on a burger, or as part of a salad, Halloumi and mushroom is a great combination.
The flavours and textures compliment each other perfectly and Recipes with Halloumi and Mushrooms are easy to find.

Halloumi Spaghetti is also a great combination.
Or, if you prefer Halloumi Tagliatelle, or any kind of Halloumi Pasta Combo really.
The texture of soft pasta is fab with halloumi, and you can probably add halloumi to many of your favourite pasta dishes.

Away from main Halloumi Meals, it’s fab with sweet chilli sauce, spicy mayo, and even sticky BBQ sauce.
There are loads of things to do with halloumi, and I always think a great place to start is swapping it with chicken.
If something works with chicken, chances are, it will be equally good (or better) with Halloumi Cheese.
Is it Better to Fry or Grill Halloumi?
It’s easier to fry Halloumi for your Quick Halloumi Recipes.

You can fry halloumi dry but I tend to use a few sprays of cooking oil, and just gently fry for a few minutes on each side until they are browned and the cheese has softened.
But, because halloumi has a very very high melting point, you can grill it or even BBQ it. This is the best way if you want a crispier outside.
I’d rub the sliced halloumi in a little oil beforehand, just so that it doesn’t stick.
Halloumi can also be baked and roast traybake Recipes with Halloumi instead of chicken are wonderful family dinners.

How Long Should You Cook Halloumi For
You only need to cook halloumi for a few minutes on each side if you are either grilling or frying it.
How to Make Mushroom and Halloumi Pasta
This Creamy Mushroom and Halloumi Pasta with soured cream is soooo easy!

The first time I ever made it, it was to use up some leftover soured cream dip from some Doritos that we’d had.
You can absolutely do this if you’ve got some, but obviously, it’s cheaper to buy just regular soured cream if you haven’t got any in.
To make this Creamy Halloumi Pasta simply fry the sliced onions, mushrooms, and halloumi in a little oil until the onions are soft, stir through the soured cream, and simmer.
Add cooked pasta, and toss together until it’s coated in sauce and serve straight from the pan.

I add a little salt and pepper to my Mushroom and Halloumi Spaghetti, but that’s it.
If you want to add other herbs I recommend fresh chives or a tsp of parsley.
What to Serve with Mushroom and Halloumi Spaghetti

If you are eating this Halloumi Pasta for a quick and easy lunch, it’s absolutely fine to serve alone.
If you want to make a family meal, I’d double the recipe so that it serves four and add some garlic bread and salad to the side.

What I like about this is not the fact it’s incredibly easy you’ve actually used up something that’s going to be thrown away. The sour cream. We hate throwing things away it’s such a waste. Too many people waste food too often. It looks delicious too. Thank you for linking up to the #familyfunlinky
I hate waste too, if every something is going to get thrown away I try and find a way to use it up…Which has led to many interesting sandwiches
Ok, now I need pasta. I love halloumi but I’ve never thought of putting it with pasta. I definitely will now though!
