Chicken Tikka Masala? Awesome! Pizzas? Awesome! Chicken Tikka Pizzas? The family dinner fusion we all need! I make these tasty chicken tikka pizzas on store-bought bread for a super simple family meal.

I love everything about this easy dinner. Chicken tikka and cheesy pizza, what could be better? Perfect comfort food.

Well, actually, I use these amazing breads from Aldi, so I don’t even make pizza bases, so it’s super quick!

Chicken tikka pizzas are a super simple, quick, and incredibly tasty family dinner. Perfect for busy weeknights! You can even make the chicken ahead of time and leave it in the fridge until you are ready to put your chicken tikka masala pizzas together.

Honestly, I love all of my recipes, but this one is one of the best!

Are These Naan Bread Pizzas?

I use these Aldi Kebab wrap things. They are rectangular, fairly thick, and perfect for topping. We often have them with chicken kebabs or just as wraps

They are yummy and the kids really love them because they are nice and soft, without a crust. Easy to eat!

So mine aren’t quite chicken tikka naan bread pizzas.

But yours could be!

You could absolutely use naan bread for this recipe for chicken tikka pizzas. You could also use flatbreads or even store-bought pizza bases. Just anything thick enough to support the toppings that won’t go floppy when you try to eat it.

Can You Make Pizza Bases?

Yes, if you prefer and have more time, you could make pizza bases.

We make homemade pizza quite regularly, and the kids love it. If I was making this on a Saturday, I’d probably make my own bases, but for a quick and easy midweek meal, it’s just faster not to.

When I make pizza bases, I use this recipe. It’s an easy pizza dough that we make regularly.

Chicken Tikka Pizza Ingredients

When I make my easy chicken tikka pizza recipe, I use:

Kebab Wraps or Naan Bread

Chopped Tomatoes

Mixed Herbs

Olive Oil

Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs – Chicken breasts are fine too, any boneless chicken, really.

Garlic

Ginger Puree – Or Very Lazy Ginger.

Turmeric

Red Chilli Puree – Or Very Lazy Red Chilli.

Garam Masala

Cumin

Salt and Pepper

Greek Yoghurt – Full Fat.

Cooking Spray

Ghee

Peppers – I like red pepper best, but any are fine.

Onion – Red onion is fine, too.

Mozzarella Cheese – You could add some grated cheddar too (or instead).

Can You Add Different Toppings?

Yes, like any pizza, you can add any chicken tikka pizza topping. I think the tikka marinade tastes great with onions and peppers, but use your favourites.

How to Make Chicken Tikka Pizzas

I try to keep this recipe simple, but you do need to marinate your chicken for at least 2 hours. Overnight is best if possible.

You can also get the full instructions and quantities for chicken tikka naan pizza in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Step One

Chop the chicken into chunks.

Step Two

Place in an airtight tub (or covered bowl) with the garlic (crushed), ginger, turmeric, chilli puree, garam masala, cumin, a good pinch of salt and pepper and a tablespoon of yoghurt.

Step Three

Stir well, seal the tub and place in the fridge overnight if possible or for at least 2 hours.

Step Four

To make the tomato pizza sauce, pour the tomatoes into a saucepan, and add mixed herbs, a pinch of black pepper and a tablespoon of olive oil.

Step Five

Warm over medium heat.

Step Six

Simmer for around 20 minutes, stirring often.

Step Seven

Remove from the heat and leave to cool a little before carefully using a fork to mash out any large lumps.

Step Eight

Melt a tablespoon of ghee in a large, non-stick frying pan over medium heat (you can use cooking spray or oil if you don’t have ghee).

Step Nine

Add the onions and fry for 5-10 minutes until soft and starting to brown.

What to Serve with Chicken Tikka Pizzas

I serve my chicken tikka pizzas with coleslaw and salad and save any leftovers for lunch the next day!

You could also serve with some mango chutney or some sweet potato fries.
